Mahi Strike Kit — 3 Mahi Trolling Lures
Three mahi mahi lures that cover the whole weedline. Two hooked rigs and a chugger: the original Mahi Striker, a natural ghost pattern for clear water, and a surface lure for slick days when nothing is showing. Hand rigged in Fort Lauderdale and ready to fish out of the bag. Tackle only, no apparel.
What's in the Mahi Strike Kit
- Mahi Striker: three baits rigged on one line, the original mahi rig
- Mahi Ghost Striker: ghost white translucent squid with pink and silver flash fiber, hooked
- Mahi Chugger: rigged Super Chugger, big head, long bubble trail
Three lures, three different conditions
Mahi hunt by sight, and what they will eat changes with the light and the water. The Mahi Striker is the workhorse, three baits on one line that pull fish up off the weedline. The Mahi Ghost Striker is the natural option: translucent white with pink and silver flash, the closest thing to a real bait, and the one that works when the water is gin clear and the sun is high. The Mahi Chugger is for the slick, glassy morning when nothing is showing and you need to push water. Most anglers carry one of these. Carry all three and you stop losing days to the wrong color.
How to fish it
Flat line: Mahi Striker. Long rigger: Mahi Ghost Striker. Prop wash: Mahi Chugger. Troll 6 to 9 knots along a weedline, color change, or any floating structure: a board, a pallet, a frigate bird working. Bar Jacks runs these on the 400 to 700 foot Gulf Stream weedlines out of Fort Lauderdale.
